CD/MP3/recording group review

30 Seconds to Mars - "Up in the Air"

Music samples

This song is called Up in the Air from an American rock band 30 Seconds to Mars. It was the first single to be released from their fourth and current album entitled Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams. It was written by the band's frontman, Jared Leto. Leto described the theme of the song in an interview that it is about changing and moving forward.

"Up in the Air is about change. It's about getting to that place in your life where you're fed up. You've had enough. And you're ready to do what it takes to move forward. And to become more of who you really are, who you wish to be, who you dream to be"
The song is a synth-driven song, which was the band's intention to explore into a more experimental sound, using different electronic sounds mixing with the rock sounds. The result is a music that expands the band's familiar territory and to the listeners as well.

I highly recommend this song and other songs from the rest of the album as well. Even though you might not be familiar with the synth sounds, I believe that if you give it a chance, you might find yourself listening to it over and over again.
